Water is one natural resource that most people in the UK don’t worry about. Yet globally, ‘water stress’ is becoming an increasing issue. The poster child that shows the extent of the problem is the massive decline of the Aral Sea in Central Asia. Formerly the fourth largest lake in the world, it has been in rapid decline since the 1960s, now just 10% of its original size.
