Financial Times - Design Space

11 April 2012

3form Design featured in the Financial Times again!

Clare Dowdy’s influential Design Space column in the Financial Times recently featured the M-Series portable card reader, created by BDI member 3form Design for client Miura Systems, who wanted to launch a product to encourage small traders such as taxi drivers and cleaners to accept electronic payments.

Miura Systems, a pioneer of the world’s smallest, cheapest and most secure EPOS systems and portable handheld electronic devices, wanted the reader to be as small as possible, to appeal to its target market – so they asked Andover-based 3form Design to create one that would fit in the shirt pocket of Miura’s founder.

The Design Space story explains how 3form Design had to closely monitor the manufacture of the product in their facility in China. 3form Design’s client portfolio includes AGA, B&Q, Mastercard, Miura Systems, Speedo International and Unilever.
